Race Day Hat Making Workshop

Now that the pandemic is under control it’s time to focus back on creativity and learn the essentials of the millinery process in an online workshop led by Susie Barford of Susie Barford Millinery. Susie will take you through an overview of the art of millinery and share with you her experiences of crafting stunning hats that have graced the Royal Enclosure at Ascot. Each participant will have the opportunity to make their own hat, while learning the essentials of the millinery process in a practical, hour long session as a means of introducing race day hat making. No prior experience necessary. Materials for the hats will be provided but if you have additional trimmings you’d like to add, feel free to incorporate them. Please note this is private event for Dames of Dumbarton House Museum in Washington, DC and it is fully booked.
