SS21 Collection launches
After an incredibly tough year for every professional sector, including the millinery world, it feels amazing to be launching my Spring/Summer 2021 Collection. I’ve put together some vibrant designs just as the weather seems to be really starting to improve on both sides of the pond. You will see two pieces of couture millinery blocked in the traditional one; be being a playful cherry blossom pink, silk velvet headband with eye-catching embellishments and the other being a wide brimmed, crimson Race Day hat with handmade, silk roses.
My two other pieces which complete this collection are made using the wonderful ‘Freeform technique’ I learnt with British Milliner, Tracy Chaplin who lives in the South of France. It was wonderfully escapist to attend three of her online workshops over the winter while we were all in lockdown as it gave me the inspiration for these two very dramatic, sculptural pieces. One is a royal blue and saffron, sinamay hat with a striking orange quill and the other is a whimsical, sea-green parasisal Race Day hat, finished with a cloud-like ivory crinoline.
I had a lot of fun making this collection and as things open up again over the course of the year, I will be getting more and more excited about all the millinery adventures to come.
Stay safe and well, and keep creating.
